All about Dallin

Recently, I've seen several blog posts where the author empties the contents of her purse or diaper bag and takes a picture or comments on all of the "necessities" found inside. Surprisingly, it reveals a lot about the individual. Yesterday, as I was going through the boys' dresser, emptying out anything too small or unwearable, I stopped and looked at the top of the dresser for a moment and thought about those blogs. Dallin doesn't have a purse or a diaper bag, but the top of his dresser (where he keeps anything he doesn't want to risk Grant getting into) reveals quite a bit about him. Here is what sits on top of Dallin's Dresser (from left to right):
-An old college medical textbook on the Endocrine System
-a constellation chart of the night sky
-"175 Science Experiments" book
-a hip bone from a skeleton at the Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon's office
-Scott's old baseball teddy bear
-a model of the ear and ear drops to squeeze inside
-a picture of Scott, Dallin and Sierra
-a wooden truck that Scott and Dallin made together
-a wooden "treasure box" decorated with Spiderman stickers
(inside the box are baseball cards, LOTS of tiny painted rocks, a Valentine card from his preschool crush, a Jesus pass along card and other random pieces of paper).

That's our Dallin.

That is so great. It really is interesting to see what someone values and how that stuff becomes part of who they are (especially as children)!
