Happy 4th of July!

Our family spent the 4th of July with one of Melissa's best friends and her family down in Turlock. They live in Utah and were just visiting California-- it's GREAT to spend holidays with friends!!! Especially when we don't get to see eachother very often.

It has been HOT here, so we all went swimming in a friend's pool. This was Grant's first time swimming. He was pretty timid at first, but he quickly realized that it was just like a huge bathtub and then we couldn't get him to stop splashing. He was upset when it was time to get out of the pool.

The kids loved petting the goats at the Bowers' and feeding them leaves from nearby trees.

One of the highlights of the day came when a neighbor brought by baby goats for the kids to feed.

This weekend Scott made a trip to Navuoo with his friends from College. You can see more photos of the trip at http://mikeandnicole.blogspot.com/

A Day in the Life of Our Seven Month Old

Grant is a pretty laid back, happy baby. He is, however, also very curious and BUSY! Here are a couple picturesI took the other day as I was trying to get some things done around the house. These are just a few things I was able to catch on camera.

Grant started the day with an energizing run on the treadmill.

Followed by a challenging climb up the stairs. And then . . .

And then he decided to take a stroll outside (his older brother and sister left the door open).

For Memorial weekend we went camping with five other families in our ward at Gualala River Redwood Park. It was a beautiful campground on the Gualala River and just across the street from the Pacific Ocean. We all had a ton of fun camping with so many good friends.

This HUGE tree (or what's left of it anyway) was in the center of our campsites. The kids could actually climb up inside the tree and play. In this picture, Dallin is looking out of the top at his friends below.

Dallin and his friend, Peyton, play with sticks. Camping in the Redwoods is heaven for little boys!

Sierra eats breakfast in the nook of a big tree at our campsite.

Grant loved playing on the shore of the Gualala river and inspecting (and occasionally tasting) all of the rocks.

Scott, Dallin and Sierra play in the Gualala River.

Although it's hard to see, Scott, Dallin and Sierra are on top of this huge waterfall at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Can you believe a place like this is right in the middle of the city?

While at the Golden Gate Pavilion, I told Dallin and Sierra to "be cute" so I could take a picture. This is what they came up with. Hmmmm. . . they look a little suspicious to me.

For family night a few weeks ago we went to the park to play ball (it was Dallin's turn to choose the activity). Here is Dallin "keeping his eye on the ball" while up to bat.
